Martha Lake Lagotto puppies have EXCELLENT pedigrees as proven by WORLD and NATIONAL titles. All of our dogs are registered in AKC even our foreign born dogs.  We register each litter with AKC.  All of our breeding dogs have met the Lagotto Club of America’s highest breeding standards which include (hip, eye, and patella certifications, genetic health testing specifically for the Lagatto breed in addition to over 220 other genetic diseases, and AKC DNA parentage verification.  When you purchase our dogs as a companion family pet you will be able to see generations of proven desirable traits.  We breed show quality as well as companion pets. Our pedigrees are from countries around the world.

When a dog is shown in “conformation” it is proof of dedication and promotion for the breed. Conformation is an official term for having the dog’s body conform to the defined standard of that particular breed. The closer of the mating pair of the dogs’ structural conformation  to the breed standard, the better the puppies usually are in structure to the standard. When we breed a pair of lagotti we pair heredity, genetics, the above testing results, individual dog traits, structure. and temperament!

The breed Lagotto Romagnolo almost went extinct in the 1970’s. It is still in the top 10 rarest dog breed in the world. In 2015, there were about 500 lagotti in the USA.   Our pregnant moms get prenatal vitamins to help them produce the healthiest pups possible.
